The day before your facelift new jersey, make sure you have everything in place for a smooth and comfortable recovery. If you anticipate you’ll be extremely anxious prior to your surgery, you can ask your doctor to prescribe you a relaxing medication ahead of time. However, it’s important that you don’t take any new medicines before consulting your surgical team first.
You won’t be able to wash your hair for 3-4 days following your deep plane facelift, so make sure to take a long, nice shower the night before. This is also important because your doctor will hide the incisions along the hairline to keep scarring virtually invisible, so having your hair clean will help prevent potential infections. Don’t eat or drink anything the night before your procedure unless your surgeon specifically allows you to. Food and anesthesia don’t mix.
General anesthesia can only be administered on an empty stomach to reduce the chance of nausea and complications during surgery. And finally, try to keep a calm and positive perspective. Remember that this is an elective procedure, and you’ve done everything you can to prepare for it, including receiving a clean bill of health from your primary physician.
It’s not helpful to stay up until the wee hours of the night looking up potential plastic surgery complications and bad outcomes. While you may not be able to completely shut off the jittery nerves, you can keep your mind busy by listening to a podcast, watching a show, or going out for a walk. And if everything else fails, you can always call it a night and go to bed early!
